The APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) is a project management certification offered by the Association of Project Managers (APM). Formerly known as the APM Introductory Certificate (IC), it offers a fundamental understanding of the essential principles, tools and techniques which make up project management. Candidates can take the course without any prior knowledge or experience, making this an excellent option for new or aspiring managers.
Throughout the course, students will be able to reinforce their knowledge by revisiting modules and taking part in practice exams. Once complete, students can request FREE exam vouchers for the official APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) examination.
Project management is a skill which not only offers a fascinating and rewarding career path, but also valuable opportunities in industries all over the world. Being able to work towards specific goals within tight constraints can be fundamental for an organization’s short and long term success. However, it is usually necessary for a manager to invest time in studying project management theory, rather than simply relying on experience, if they really want to stand out and advance their careers.
This course will help students learn how to apply the fundamental principles of project management. They will become familiar with project management terminology, and come to understand the biggest benefits of a structured, well-informed approach. Crucially, the theory covered in the course can be applied to any project, regardless of its size, sector, industry or location.
The syllabus covers the project management lifecycle, in accordance with the APM Body of Knowledge. Students will gain a solid understanding of the fundamentals of successful project management.
Because there are no prerequisites for taking this course, it can provide an excellent initial stepping stone for anyone new to project management. Students will gain a broad understanding of the techniques, tools and principles which are vital to project success. The introduction can also give students a coherent understanding of their career path, setting them up to gain valuable experience in project teams and even to move on to additional qualifications, such as PRINCE2® Certification.
